Coach Vince Lombardi gave this RedskinsΒ  rookie a chance at a starting job in 1969, and he responded by rushing for 5, 037 yards in his first five seasons. The young man led the NFL in rushing in 1970 and was the league’s MVP in 1972. But his punishing running style of play took toll after that, and he was finished after the 1976 season. Do you remember this three – time all – pro ?
